Terms
The agreement between you and Minted Vows when you build a wedding site with us. We have tried to write it in words you would use out loud.
The short version. Building and editing is free. Publishing costs GH₵399, once, and the site is then yours to keep and keep editing. Your words and photos stay yours. If we take your money and fail to deliver, you get it back.
Who this is between
Minted Vows (“we”), of Accra, Ghana, and you: the person who creates an account and builds a site. By using the service you accept these terms. If you are doing it on behalf of a couple, you confirm you have their agreement.
What we provide
A wedding website and digital invitation, hosted by us at a web address of your choosing, with the features described on the site: RSVPs, a guest list, directions, a countdown, a guestbook, a gift box and messaging to your guests. Features change as the product improves; we will not remove something you depend on without warning.
What it costs
- Creating and editing is free. You can build the whole thing, preview it and change your mind without paying.
- Publishing costs GH₵399, once per site. Not a subscription. There is no renewal and no second invoice.
- Editing after publishing is free, forever. Fix a typo, move the venue, swap the photos.
- SMS credits to message your guests are bought separately, priced at checkout.
- Prices are in Ghana cedis and may change for new purchases. A change never applies to a site you have already published.
Cash gifts
If you switch the gift box on, guests can send you money through Paystack. Two charges apply, and only one of them is yours:
- Processing at 1.94%, paid by your guest. It is added on top of the gift and shown to them before they pay, so the amount they chose is the amount that reaches you. A guest giving GH₵100 pays GH₵101.94.
- Disbursement at 1%, applied when your gifts are paid out to you.
Gifts are settled to you in cedis. We hold the money only in passing and are not a bank. If a guest disputes a payment, the payment provider’s rules decide the outcome, and a reversed gift is deducted from what is settled to you.
Refunds
- If the service fails, meaning you paid to publish and your site did not go live or was unusable through our fault, write to us and we will refund you in full.
- If you change your mind after publishing, tell us within 14 days and we will refund you, provided you have not already sent the link to your guests.
- SMS credits already spent cannot be refunded, because the messages were sent. Unused credits can be.
- Cash gifts from guests are not ours to refund. They are money sent to you, and a guest wanting one back should speak to you.
Your content
Your photographs, your words, your names and your guest list remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your content, and to show it on your site to the people you share it with. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload: a photographer’s pictures, a song, somebody else’s design. If a rights holder objects, we may have to remove it.
We may show a published site as an example of our work on our own homepage. If you would rather we did not, say so and we will not.
Your guests
When you add people to your guest list, you are giving us their details to hold on your behalf. You confirm you have a genuine reason to contact them, namely that they are invited to your wedding, and you agree not to use the messaging tools for anything else. The privacy policy explains how their information is handled.
Fair use
Do not use Minted Vows to:
- send messages to people who did not expect to hear from you;
- publish anything unlawful, hateful, or that impersonates somebody else;
- collect money under false pretences;
- break, overload or probe the service, or try to reach another couple’s site.
We may suspend or remove a site that does any of these. Where the reason allows it, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Keeping the service running
We work hard to keep sites up, especially on wedding days, but we do not promise uninterrupted service and we cannot control the internet, the payment provider or the SMS network. We take backups. If something breaks, we fix it as fast as we can.
Ending it
- You can leave at any time. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it and everything on it. Published sites come down.
- We can end it if these terms are broken, or if we stop offering the service. If we ever shut down, we will give reasonable notice and a way to take your content with you, and refund anyone who paid recently and got little use of it.
Where we stand if something goes wrong
We are responsible for doing what we promised with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for things outside our control, or for indirect losses. Where the law allows a limit, ours is the amount you have paid us for the site in question.
Nothing here limits liability for anything the law does not permit us to limit, and nothing takes away consumer rights you have under Ghanaian law.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction. Before anyone goes near a court, please write to us. Nearly everything is a misunderstanding that a conversation fixes.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and we will tell account holders directly about anything significant. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
